Mataram, May 3, 2025 — The Mandarin Club of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB UNRAM), successfully held an engaging cultural event titled “Mandamates Chill Day,” welcoming nine students and lecturers from Shangrao Normal University, China. The event served as a meaningful moment to strengthen international relations and foster cultural exchange between students from Indonesia and China.

As a student organization that focuses on learning Mandarin language and Chinese culture, the Mandarin Club FEB UNRAM continuously strives to create opportunities for its members to gain firsthand experiences and engage with native Chinese speakers. This event became a unique platform for students to not only learn directly from Chinese peers but also share and celebrate their own cultural heritage.

The event was held at The Gade Creative Lounge in Mataram and was designed in a casual and friendly atmosphere, filled with cultural insight and warm interaction. The day began with a cultural exchange session, where students from both countries shared stories about campus life, traditions, languages, and everyday experiences. The session encouraged open communication and curiosity, helping to build friendships across borders.

One of the highlights of the event was the art performance segment, featuring both Indonesian and Chinese cultural presentations. The Art Community (KAS) of FEB UNRAM delivered a series of performances including traditional dances from NTB (West Nusa Tenggara), acoustic music, and a karaoke session featuring both local and international songs. Meanwhile, the students from Shangrao Normal University also showcased elements of Chinese culture, delighting the audience and further enriching the cultural atmosphere.

In addition to performances, the event included various interactive games that involved all participants, helping to break the ice and build stronger connections. The activities were filled with laughter, collaboration, and mutual appreciation of each other’s backgrounds.

To close the day, the participants continued the gathering at the beach, enjoying a relaxed setting to deepen conversations and friendships in a natural and peaceful environment.

“Mandamates Chill Day” was more than just a fun event — it was a powerful example of grassroots cultural diplomacy. It represented the spirit of global learning, cultural curiosity, and international friendship that FEB UNRAM is committed to promoting.

The Mandarin Club hopes that events like this will continue in the future, offering students more opportunities to engage with the global community, broaden their horizons, and strengthen intercultural understanding.
