Department of Accounting, FEB Unram Holds Focus Group Discussion: Increasing Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Hospitality Business Lombok, 6 July 2024 – The Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB Unram) successfully held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme “Increasing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Students in Hospitality Business: Integration of MBKM and Local Wisdom”. The event, which took place at the Lombok Astoria Hotel, was attended by experts in the hospitality industry, representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), G-Kraf, and the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Government (Pemda NTB). In this FGD, participants discussed various strategies to increase innovation and entrepreneurship among students, especially in the hospitality business. This discussion emphasized the importance of integrating the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program with local wisdom, in order to create business opportunities that are sustainable and relevant to local culture. This event was also filled with presentations from several experts in the hospitality industry, who shared their experiences and best practices in managing a hospitality business. Apart from that, participants also had the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas regarding challenges and opportunities in this industry. The participants and resource persons agreed that collaboration between academia, industry and government is very important to create an ecosystem that supports the growth of entrepreneurship in the hospitality sector. With the integration between MBKM and local wisdom, it is hoped that students can create innovations that are not only modern, but also respect local cultural values.
