Mataram, 13 February 2025 – The Indonesian Accountants Association (IAI) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Region, in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB Unram) and the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) Nusa Tenggara, successfully held Continuing Professional Education (PPL) with the theme “Challenges and Benefits in Implementation CoreTax for Personal Taxpayer”. This activity aims to provide a deeper understanding of the newest tax administration system, CoreTax, as well as the challenges and benefits that accompany it for taxpayers.

This event was attended by members of IAI Muda NTB, the majority of whom were students from the Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB Unram), accounting lecturers at FEB Unram, and representatives from the Nusa Tenggara Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP).

On this occasion, IAI NTB presented competent speakers in the field of taxation, namely Mr. Wirawiweka, S.E., M.Sc., as Head of the Counseling, Services and Public Relations Division of the Nusa Tenggara DJP Regional Office. In his presentation, he highlighted the importance of understanding CoreTax as the newest tax administration system being implemented by the government. According to him, CoreTax has various advantages, including increased efficiency in tax administration and easy access for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations.

“CoreTax is an innovation that aims to simplify the tax process and increase taxpayer compliance. “With this system, it is hoped that tax administration will become more transparent, accurate and efficient,” said Mr. Wirawiweka in the material presentation session.

The participants showed high enthusiasm during the event, especially when the discussion and question and answer sessions opened. Various questions were asked regarding the implementation of CoreTax, the challenges that taxpayers may face, and the optimal way to adapt to this new system. This interactive discussion is proof that public awareness, especially the younger generation and academics, of tax policies is increasing.

By holding this PPL, IAI NTB and FEB Unram hope to continue to play an active role in providing education and insight to the public, especially regarding the latest issues in the world of accounting and taxation. In the future, IAI NTB together with FEB Unram is committed to continuing to organize similar activities to increase literacy and understanding of taxation among academics, practitioners and the general public.

This activity ended with a group photo session and networking session between participants and presenters, creating opportunities for participants to expand their professional networks in the fields of accounting and taxation.
