BEM FEB UNRAM Hosts Youth International Student Management Training: Shaping Future Leaders for Indonesia Emas 2045

Mataram, May 31, 2025 — The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (BEM FEB UNRAM), successfully organized an international event titled Youth International Student Management Training under the theme: “Creating a Golden Generation 2045: A Leadership Journey Prioritizing Professionalism, Commitment, and Flexibility for Personal and Organizational Growth.” The event took place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Dome Building of the University of Mataram.
The training was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FEB UNRAM, Dr. Lalu M. Furkan, who in his remarks emphasized the importance of developing strong student leadership as a key strategy to welcome Indonesia’s demographic bonus and realize the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045. He also expressed appreciation for BEM FEB UNRAM’s efforts in organizing programs that not only reach the national scale but also foster international collaboration.
What made this event particularly special was the participation of students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, who engaged both as attendees and speakers. This collaboration is part of the university’s commitment to internationalization and academic exchange, fostering cross-cultural dialogue among students from Indonesia and Malaysia.
Inspirational Speakers from Various Backgrounds
The Youth International Student Management Training featured three distinguished speakers from diverse professional and organizational backgrounds:

Saef from UiTM Malaysia, presented on “Global Volunteerism.” He highlighted the importance of volunteering abroad as a powerful medium for developing leadership, cultural empathy, and global awareness. Drawing from his own international volunteer experiences, Saef encouraged students to explore opportunities that build both character and social responsibility.

Ahmad Zaenal Wafik, a lecturer at the University of Mataram and President of BEM FEB UNRAM in 2016, shared his leadership journey in a session titled “Leadership Journey and Organizational Commitment.” He recounted his transition from student leader to academic, emphasizing the role of commitment, responsibility, and effective communication in leading successful organizations.

Hj. Nur Aida, Director of CV Pawon Pengsong Utama, delivered a session on “Entrepreneurship and Adaptive Leadership.” Offering insights from the business world, she spoke on professionalism, resilience, and flexibility as critical traits for navigating the ever-evolving economic landscape. Her entrepreneurial story was a powerful inspiration for students eager to start their own ventures.
High Enthusiasm Reflects Strong Student Engagement
The training was not only informative but also highly interactive. During the Q&A and discussion sessions, students from both UNRAM and UiTM Malaysia showed great enthusiasm, asking numerous questions and engaging actively with the speakers. The lively discussions reflected the participants’ genuine interest in leadership issues, global experiences, and personal development.
The strong cross-cultural interaction throughout the event became one of its highlights, offering participants a platform to exchange ideas and learn from different perspectives beyond their local context.
