FEB UNRAM Conducts International Service on Maringkik Island Lombok, Collaborating with Universiti Sains Malaysia, Shangrao Normal University, and Murdoch University

Lombok, 25-26 February 2025 – Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB UNRAM) once again demonstrated its commitment to community service by holding International Community Service on Maringkik Island, Keruak District, East Lombok Regency. This activity involves Universiti Sains Malaysia, Shangrao Normal University, and Murdoch University as collaboration partners.
This activity lasts for two days, namely on Wednesday and Thursday, 25-26 February 2025. On the first day, Wednesday, 25 February 2025, the activity carries the theme Sustainable Tourism in Teluk Jekung and Maringkik Island: Community University Engagement. This theme focuses on developing sustainable tourism in Jekung Bay and Maringkik Island by involving communities and universities. This concept includes environmentally friendly tourism management, community participation in the tourism industry, as well as implementing best practices in preserving nature. With the involvement of academics, it is hoped that there will be a transfer of knowledge and research that supports sustainable tourism management.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, February 26 2025, the theme raised was Sustainable Livestock Farming to Support Tourism Industry. This theme highlights the importance of sustainable livestock as a supporter of the tourism industry. The main focus is how an environmentally friendly and efficient livestock system can meet the needs of the tourism sector, such as providing local food for restaurants and hotels. By implementing a good livestock system, it is hoped that the welfare of local communities will increase, while ensuring the sustainability of the ecosystem in the region.
The participants involved consisted of FEB UNRAM managers, lecturers, and students from all study programs at FEB UNRAM, from D3, S1, to Masters. Apart from that, Prof. Mohd Anuar bin Arshad from Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as students from Shangrao Normal University and Murdoch University.
This activity aims to provide broader insight to Universiti Sains Malaysia, Shangrao Normal University, and Murdoch University regarding the potential for developing joint programs in the field of research. Through this activity, it is hoped that closer collaboration will be established in form joint research and other academic programs that can provide benefits to society and the academic world.
This international service is clear evidence that FEB UNRAM continues to strive to collaborate with various higher education institutions at the global level, while contributing directly to the community in the coastal region of East Lombok.
With this activity, it is hoped that the synergy between FEB UNRAM and partner universities can continue in various fields, both academic, research and community service.
