FEB Unram Strengthens Its Social Role through Community Service Activities for the 62nd Anniversary

North Lombok, December 5, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Mataram (FEB Unram), commemorated its 62nd anniversary by organizing a series of community service programs under the theme “FEB Sharing and Creating Impact.” The programs reflect FEB Unram’s strong commitment to engaging more closely with the community through social action, economic empowerment, and environmental conservation initiatives.
The Head of the 62nd Anniversary Community Service Team, Muhamad Bai’ul Hak, stated that the activities were designed to deliver tangible and sustainable benefits to local communities. “There are six main programs implemented with the involvement of lecturers, students, alumni, and the support of donors. All activities are aimed at providing direct benefits and strengthening FEB Unram’s role within society,” Bai’ul Hak said on Friday (December 5, 2025).
This year’s community service programs were centered in Pemenang Village and Sigar Penjalin Village, North Lombok Regency. In Pemenang Village, teams of FEB Unram lecturers and students provided education and assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), focusing on digital marketing, basic financial management, and strengthening local product branding.
“These training activities are projected to help local business actors improve their competitiveness while strengthening the economic structure of the tourism village,” he explained. The initiative is expected to enable MSMEs to become more adaptive to technological developments and market demands.
Meanwhile, in Sigar Penjalin Village, FEB Unram distributed operational assistance and supporting facilities for local mosques. The support aims to enhance the comfort of worship activities and strengthen the role of mosques as centers for social and educational activities within the community.
Another activity that received strong enthusiasm was the distribution of educational assistance to elementary school students and TPQ (Qur’anic learning center) students. The assistance included school supplies, stationery, and study desks to encourage learning motivation among children in coastal areas.
In addressing environmental issues, FEB Unram conducted a Beach Clean Up activity at Tembobor Beach, involving students and local residents. In addition to cleaning the coastal area, participants also received education on the dangers of plastic waste and the importance of maintaining beach cleanliness as an ecotourism asset.
“Furthermore, the FEB Unram team planted hundreds of mangrove seedlings as an effort to strengthen coastal ecosystems. This program symbolizes the faculty’s commitment to environmental sustainability and coastal abrasion mitigation,” Bai’ul Hak added.
The selection of Pemenang Village and Sigar Penjalin Village as activity locations was based on community needs as well as the potential for tourism-based and local economic development. Local community leaders and village officials warmly welcomed the presence of FEB Unram, recognizing the activities as providing concrete and relevant benefits.
FEB Unram also expressed its appreciation to all donors, including lecturers, educational staff, students, alumni, and partners, who provided both moral and material support. Without their contributions, the entire series of community service activities would not have been implemented optimally.
Through the series of community service programs in celebration of its 62nd anniversary, FEB Unram reaffirmed its commitment to actively contributing to social, economic, and environmental development. By carrying the theme “FEB Sharing and Creating Impact,” FEB Unram hopes to strengthen synergy between the university and the community while expanding positive and sustainable impacts for communities in need.
