FEB UNRAM HOLDS LEARNING EVALUATION WORKSHOP, ODD SEMESTER TA. 2024/2025 AND DISTRIBUTION OF TEACHING TASKS EVEN SEMESTER FY. 2024/2025 FACULTY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS MATARAM UNIVERSITY

Mataram, 13 February 2025 – In an effort to improve the quality of learning and optimize academic performance, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of the University of Mataram (UNRAM) held TA Odd Semester Learning Evaluation Workshop. 2024/2025 and Distribution of Teaching Duties for Even Semester TA. 2024/2025 on Thursday, 13 February 2025. This activity was attended by all FEB UNRAM lecturers and led directly by the Dean and accompanied by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs (WD 1), Deputy Dean for General and Financial Affairs (WD 2), and Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni (WD 3).
This workshop is an important momentum to evaluate the effectiveness of the learning process that has taken place during the odd semester and develop more optimal learning strategies for the even semester. Apart from that, this activity is also a forum for lecturers to discuss various challenges and opportunities in improving the quality of teaching and the achievement of key performance indicators (IKU) for faculties and universities.
Opening by the Dean: Strengthening Academic and Institutional Strategies
The Dean of FEB UNRAM in his speech emphasized several strategic points that must be of common concern, including:
- Optimizing Academic Performance Based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
FEB UNRAM continues to strive to improve IKU achievements as an indicator of institutional success in providing quality education. This includes increasing student involvement in the MBKM program (Independent Learning Independent Campus), collaboration with industry, as well as strengthening the quality of graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work. - Preparation and Success of Study Program Accreditation
Accreditation is the main focus in improving academic quality. Currently, four out of ten study programs at FEB have done so submit department accreditation, and further preparation is needed to face field assessments and evaluation of accreditation documents in order to obtain maximum results. - Supporting UNRAM towards PTNBH (State University with Legal Entity)
FEB UNRAM contributed to accelerating the change in UNRAM’s status to PTNBH by ensuring the effectiveness of academic and administrative governance, increasing the financial independence of the faculty, as well as strengthening networks with industry and strategic partners. - Faculty Internationalization Program Internationalization is an important step in expanding FEB UNRAM’s academic reach. This program includes increasing collaboration with foreign universities, student and lecturer exchanges, as well as aligning the curriculum with international standards.
Presentation from the Deputy Dean: Evaluation and Direction of Academic Policy
After the opening by the Dean, the workshop session continued with presentations from each Deputy Dean highlighting specific aspects in academic and learning management:
- WD 1 (Academic Field)
The Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs emphasized the importance of preparing field assessments in the context of study program accreditation. Evaluation of accreditation documents and simulations field assessment (AL) is a strategic step that must be prepared early on. Apart from that, curriculum adjustments need to be made based on Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 53 of 2023, which requires updates in the structure and implementation of learning. Alignment of academic guidebooks and improving the quality of the learning process are also the main focus in supporting the achievement of better educational quality standards.
- WD 2 (Facilities and Infrastructure Sector)
Optimizing the management of academic activities and providing better facilities and infrastructure is the main focus of this field. WD 2 emphasized that the quality of learning is very dependent on the available facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, and access to adequate learning resources. Therefore, more efficient management of infrastructure and facilities based on academic needs will continue to be pursued.
- WD 3 (Student and Alumni Affairs)
In an effort to improve the quality of teaching staff, WD 3 emphasized the importance of the lecturer competency certification program, which will increase the competitiveness and credibility of teaching staff at national and international levels. In addition, increasing the role of student organizations (ormawa), strengthening relationships with alumni, as well as internationalization programs are important agendas to expand opportunities for collaboration and develop the competencies of students and graduates.
Discussion Session: Lecturer Input to Strengthen the Learning Process
This workshop closed with an interactive discussion session which provided space for lecturers to convey ideas and input regarding the learning process. The various proposals that have emerged focus on enriching teaching methods, using technology in learning, and improving the quality of student assessments so that they are more in line with applicable academic standards.
From the results of the discussion, it was agreed that FEB UNRAM would continue to adopt various innovative strategies in learning to improve academic quality and strengthen the competitiveness of graduates. In addition, the implementation of the results of this workshop will be evaluated periodically to ensure the effectiveness of the agreed policies.
By holding this workshop, it is hoped that FEB UNRAM will be better prepared to face future academic challenges, strengthen the institution’s reputation, and make a real contribution to the development of quality and globally competitive higher education.
