FEB Unram Strengthens PKM 2026 Preparation, Promotes Structured Mentoring and Establishment of Student Achievement Clinic

Mataram, 9 February 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Mataram (FEB Unram) held a follow-up meeting to discuss the preparation for the 2026 Student Creativity Program (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa/PKM). The meeting took place at the Multimedia Room, Building A, 2nd Floor, FEB Unram, and was attended by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, along with academic advisors of student organizations within the faculty.
This meeting was conducted as part of the faculty’s strategic efforts to strengthen student development and enhance readiness for national and international student competitions, particularly the Student Creativity Program (PKM) and other prestigious academic and innovation competitions.
In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of FEB Unram, Lalu M. Furkan, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of active mentoring by academic advisors in supporting students to achieve competitive and impactful outcomes.
He highlighted several key competitions that will become the focus of student development, including the Student Creativity Program (PKM), National Student Scientific Week (Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional/PIMNAS), Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW), KMI Expo, Indonesian Student Debating Competition (KDMI), National University Debating Championship (NUDC), Outstanding Student Selection (Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi/Pilmapres), Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM), and other national-level competitions.
He also proposed that future meetings involve students who plan to participate in competitions, enabling advisors to provide direct guidance and more effective mentoring.
During the discussion session, academic advisors shared strategic insights regarding PKM implementation. They noted that the proposal selection process is highly competitive, involving strict administrative and substantive evaluation stages. Many student proposals fail due to administrative errors or lack of compliance with submission guidelines.
The advisors emphasized the importance of structured and continuous mentoring, starting from idea generation, proposal development, and revision, to the final submission stage. In addition to academic competence, students are expected to demonstrate commitment, discipline, and readiness throughout the competition process.
They also highlighted the essential role of academic advisors not only as supervisors but also as facilitators in encouraging innovative and creative ideas among students.
As part of efforts to improve student achievement, participants proposed the establishment of a Student Achievement Clinic as a structured platform for mentoring and supporting students participating in competitions. This initiative is expected to serve as a centralized hub for continuous guidance, capacity building, and performance development.
In response, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni expressed full support for the initiative, recognizing it as a strategic step toward strengthening student development and improving competitiveness at both national and international levels.
The faculty also emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination through dedicated communication channels to facilitate mentoring activities and information sharing related to PKM and other student competitions.
Through this PKM preparation meeting, FEB Unram reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening structured and sustainable student development programs. This initiative is expected to improve the quality of student proposals, enhance competition readiness, and increase student achievements at national and international levels.
With strong institutional support, dedicated academic mentoring, and improved coordination, FEB Unram remains optimistic about fostering highly competitive and accomplished students while supporting the vision of Universitas Mataram as a leading and globally competitive university.
