Lombok Timur, August 17, 2025 – Under the blue sky of Rinjani, the spirit of independence once again echoed. Hundreds of nature enthusiasts from various organizations across West Nusa Tenggara, initiated by the Student Nature Lovers of the Faculty of Economics (MAPALA-FE), held a solemn ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at Post II Tengengean, Rinjani Via Sembalun.

The event, filled with reverence, gratitude, and pride, became not only a symbol of unity but also a reflection on the true meaning of independence. For nature lovers, true independence is not only about freedom from colonialism, but also about the ability to protect, preserve, and sustain Indonesia’s natural environment.

“Mount Rinjani is not just a symbol of beauty, but also a home that we must protect together. From its forests and lake to its peak, everything is a blessing that sustains life,” said one representative of MAPALA-FE.

Through this sacred moment, the participants emphasized that loving Indonesia also means loving its nature. This message was manifested in their commitment to maintaining cleanliness, preserving ecosystems, and raising awareness among the younger generation about the importance of harmony between humans and nature.

Carrying the theme “Salam Lestari, Freedom for Indonesia’s Nature”, the event is expected to inspire all communities to embody the meaning of independence through concrete actions, especially in preserving the environment.

Happy 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
Let us celebrate independence by protecting our Mother Earth, starting from Rinjani, for a sustainable future
