Dean of FEB Unram Releases Internship Students to Japan, forms Cooperation with Passion Japan, Inc.

Mataram, May 26, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB UNRAM) once again showed its commitment in producing globally competitive graduates by releasing three students to take part in an internship program in Japan. The release ceremony was held at 10.00 WITA in the International Affairs Office Room of FEB UNRAM.

This internship program is the result of cooperation between FEB UNRAM and Passion Japan Incorporation. The event was attended by the Dean of FEB UNRAM, the Head of the S1 Development Economics and S1 Accounting Study Programs, as well as the Passion Japan Regional Manager for NTB Province, Mr. Wawan Setiyawan.

Prior to departure, the students had undergone intensive training for approximately four months, including Japanese language acquisition and understanding of Japanese culture, as well as two months of additional preparation. Based on the selection and training results, three students passed and were ready to depart. They consist of one student from the Accounting Study Program and two students from the Economics and Development Studies Study Program (IESP).

Remarks by the Dean of FEB in the release of internship students to Japan

Dean of FEB UNRAM, Dr. Ihsan Ro’is, M.Si., in his speech expressed his pride for the enthusiasm and dedication of the students who made it through. He hopes that this program can open more international opportunities for FEB UNRAM students in the future.

“This program is part of FEB UNRAM’s efforts in expanding global networks. We will certainly continue to evaluate each program that is run. If it goes well, God willing, it will be continued; but if there is something that needs to be evaluated, of course we will make improvements for the future, “said Dr. Ihsan.

He also advised the departing students to take good care of themselves and bring the institution’s good name during the internship program in Japan.

In line with this, Mr. Wawan Setiyawan emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the international industry. According to him, this kind of program is a strategic step in building capacity and global work experience for students.

This internship program is not only a means of direct learning in the Japanese workplace, but also part of FEB UNRAM’s strategy in producing graduates who are adaptive, competitive, and ready to compete at the global level.
