The Faculty of Economics and Business, Unram’s D3 Tourism Program Holds a Research and Community Service Roadmap as a Strategic Step Towards Sustainable Tourism Development

Mataram, August 5, 2025 – The Diploma in Tourism Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Mataram, held a Roadmap Development Workshop for Research and Community Engagement at Building D, FEB Unram. This activity marks a strategic step in strengthening the direction of research development and the tangible contribution of the Diploma in Tourism Program to both academic excellence and community empowerment.
The event was attended by the Head and Secretary of the Diploma in Tourism Program as well as all tourism lecturers actively involved in teaching, research, and community service. Their presence was expected to provide valuable input and constructive ideas in formulating a research and community engagement roadmap that is more focused, measurable, and aligned with the needs of the tourism industry.
In addition, this activity also served as a momentum to strengthen collaboration among lecturers and build networks with various stakeholders, including the government, the tourism industry, and local communities. With the establishment of the research and community engagement roadmap, the Diploma in Tourism Program is expected to produce more applicable research, contribute to the advancement of knowledge, and create a direct impact on the development of the tourism sector in West Nusa Tenggara and Indonesia in general.
This roadmap development activity represents the commitment of the Diploma in Tourism Program, FEB Unram, to realizing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the fields of research and community service. The outcomes of this activity will serve as a reference for future program planning, scientific publications, as well as more innovative and impactful community engagement initiatives.
