Mataram, July 8, 2026<\/strong> \u2013 The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Mataram (FEB Unram), organized the Workshop on Formulating the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategic Plan of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Mataram on Tuesday (July 8) at the Main Conference Room, Building A, 2nd Floor, FEB Unram. The workshop marked a strategic initiative to formulate the faculty’s future direction in response to the evolving landscape of higher education, industry demands, and stakeholder expectations.<\/p>\n

The workshop featured Prof. Embun Suryani, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FEB Unram, as the keynote speaker and was officially opened by Dr. Ihsan Ro’is, M.Si., Dean of FEB Unram. The event brought together lecturers, study program administrators, alumni, and external stakeholders, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to developing a strategic framework through an inclusive and collaborative approach.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks, the Dean emphasized that the formulation of the faculty’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan serves as the foundation for guiding FEB Unram’s long-term development. He explained that these strategic documents are not merely administrative requirements but essential references for advancing education, research, community engagement, institutional governance, and partnerships.<\/p>\n

“The formulation of our vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan must respond to contemporary challenges while accommodating the needs of industry, government, alumni, and society. Therefore, input from all stakeholders is essential to ensure that FEB Unram continues to develop as a relevant, competitive, and impactful institution,”<\/em> he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

During the main session, Prof. Embun Suryani highlighted the importance of developing a vision and mission that are clear, measurable, and aligned with the strategic direction of Universitas Mataram as well as national higher education policies. She explained that the faculty’s goals and strategies should be formulated based on comprehensive analyses of internal and external conditions, advancements in science and technology, and the evolving needs of stakeholders.<\/p>\n

She further emphasized that involving various stakeholders throughout the planning process is crucial to producing a strategic document that accurately reflects the faculty’s aspirations while strengthening academic quality, research, community service, institutional governance, collaboration, and internationalization.<\/p>\n

The workshop continued with an interactive discussion session, during which lecturers, study program administrators, alumni, and stakeholders shared valuable insights and recommendations regarding the future direction of FEB Unram. Participants discussed graduate competencies, opportunities for strategic partnerships, and the challenges facing higher education institutions in an increasingly dynamic global environment. These contributions will serve as important inputs in refining the faculty’s strategic planning documents.<\/p>\n

Through this workshop, FEB Unram aims to produce a comprehensive, adaptive, and forward-looking vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan that responds to the changing needs of higher education and the labor market. The initiative also reaffirms the faculty’s commitment to strengthening institutional governance through participatory strategic planning, continuous quality improvement, and the pursuit of academic excellence at both the national and international levels.<\/p>\n
