EP Study Program Successfully Holds International Conference

The Development Economics Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram successfully held the International Conference on Economic Issues (ICONES) which took place on May 7, 2023. This conference carried the theme “Redefining the pathway of Sustainable Green Energy and New Economy”, and was attended by academics, researchers, students, and economic practitioners from within and outside the country.

The activity, which was carried out in a hybrid manner at the Theater Building of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram, presented a number of keynote speakers from various countries, including Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Melissa Shahrom from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia, Dr. Ing. Rahmat Suryana from AIPSE Germany, and Rezzy Eko Caraka, PhD from UNIST, South Korea.

In her remarks, the Head of the Development Economics Undergraduate Study Program, Dr. Luluk Fadliyanti, said that this conference is a real manifestation of the Study Program’s commitment to increasing scientific contributions in the field of development economics globally. “We hope that ICONES can become a collaborative platform for sharing research results and formulating solutions to today’s economic development challenges,” she said.

Over 100 papers were presented in parallel sessions, covering topics ranging from social inequality, digital transformation, sustainable development, green economy, to fiscal and monetary policy. In addition to presentation sessions, the conference also provided interactive discussion and networking sessions that allowed participants to exchange ideas and forge cross-border research collaborations.

With the successful implementation of ICONES 2023, the Development Economics Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram is committed to continuing to encourage international scientific activities as part of efforts to improve the quality of higher education and contribute to sustainable economic development.
