a Brief History

The Master of Management (MM) Study Program was officially established in 1999 under the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education Number 153/DIKTI/Kep/1999. In 2006, the program underwent significant structural changes following the inception of the University of Mataram’s Postgraduate Program, placing the Master of Management Study Program directly under the administration of the Postgraduate Program.
The program was established in response to the pressing regional demand for professional human resources capable of managing both governmental and non-governmental institutions effectively. Throughout its development, the Master of Management Study Program has demonstrated a consistent upward trend in student enrollment and graduate output. Furthermore, the program has achieved significant milestones in institutional academic development, including the opening of new concentrations, the expansion of educational collaborations, and active participation in activities designed to enhance academic quality.
Historical Timeline of Admissions and Governance:
- 2004/2005 – 2018/2019: During this period, while still operating under the auspices of the Postgraduate Program, new student admissions were conducted biannually (twice a year). The program offered two distinct class categories: the Regular Class and the Executive Class.
- 2019/2020 – 2021/2022: The administration of the program was transferred to the Faculty of Economics and Business. During this transition, the program continued to conduct admissions twice a year and maintained the division of Regular and Executive classes.
- 2022/2023 – Present: The study program shifted its admission policy to a single annual intake, specifically during the Odd Semester. Marking a new era of global engagement, the Master of Management Study Program began accepting international students in 2023. Subsequently, in 2024, the program expanded its international offerings by introducing the Management by Research program for international students.
