Mataram, June 7, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB Unram), once again held the qurban (animal sacrifice) ceremony to commemorate Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri. This activity is part of an annual tradition that not only strengthens spiritual values but also serves as a tangible expression of social care and unity within the campus environment.

This year, FEB Unram received and slaughtered a total of 2 cows and 8 goats as qurban animals. These animals were donated by members of the FEB academic community and institutional partners who voluntarily took part in the qurban program as an act of worship and solidarity with others.

The slaughtering process was carried out in accordance with Islamic religious principles, while also observing hygiene and food safety standards. The cutting and distribution process took place on the FEB Unram campus and involved a special committee consisting of staff members and experienced personnel trained in proper qurban slaughtering procedures.

From the total animals sacrificed, the committee successfully distributed 238 meat packages, each weighing approximately 1.7 kilograms. These packages were then delivered to educational staff, outsourced workers, students, lecturers, and study program administrators.

This activity is part of FEB Unram’s ongoing efforts to foster a spirit of sharing and to strengthen social bonds between the university and the wider community. Beyond being a yearly religious observance, Eid al-Adha is also seen as a moment to cultivate empathy, increase social awareness, and reinforce the bonds of fellowship.

Through the implementation of this qurban program, FEB Unram hopes to provide real benefits and blessings for everyone involved, while also reinforcing the university’s role as an institution committed not only to academic development but also to social and religious engagement.
