Strengthening Academic Governance: FEB Unram Hosts Risk Management Assistance Workshop

Mataram, July 25, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram (FEB Unram), through its Internal Quality Assurance Unit (GPM), organized a Risk Management Assistance Workshop attended by faculty leadership and study program managers across the faculty. The event took place offline at the FEB Unram campus.
This workshop was part of FEB Unram’s continuous efforts to strengthen its quality culture and establish a structured and sustainable risk management system. The session featured expert speakers from the Institute for Learning Development and Educational Quality Assurance (LPPMP) of the University of Mataram, who shared knowledge and practical insights on implementing risk management in higher education institutions.
In his opening remarks, Dean of FEB Unram, Dr. Ihsan Ro’is, ST., M.Si., emphasized that strengthening risk management is a crucial component of academic governance, particularly to support accreditation processes, quality assurance, and program sustainability.
“Risk management is not merely an administrative requirement but a strategic approach to navigating changes and challenges in higher education. We hope that each program manager will adopt these principles in their planning and operational activities,” stated Dr. Ihsan.
Participants engaged in active discussions and hands-on simulations on risk management documentation, guided directly by the LPPMP speakers. The workshop also served as a platform for sharing best practices among programs in managing various academic and non-academic risks.
Through this initiative, FEB Unram’s Quality Assurance Unit aims to further enhance its internal quality systems and improve the faculty’s preparedness for external audits and national higher education policy dynamics.
